What makes AHG different than other national programs?
AHG is a Christ centered organization. All leadership including individual Troop leadership, AHG Board of Trustees and National Staff must abide and agree to the Statement of Faith as referred to on the AHG website, as well as in the individual Unit Leader handbooks and specific ministry agreements. These agreements are renewed annually.
Do girls need a handbook?
All girls need a Girl Handbook. This handbook is a tool that will assist them with badge requirements, keeping accurate records, and assist their Leaders throughout their AHG career. Yours will be ordered at registration. The handbooks will last throughout your daughter's Pathfinder year, Tenderheart through Explorer years, and one for the Pioneer through Patriot years.
Do all girls need a full uniform?
AHG is a uniformed organization and requires that all registered girl members attending Troop meetings to wear the AHG official uniform. Uniforms vary with your daughter's level. The uniforms are shown here or in the girl handbook. The AHG uniform demonstrates that you are a member of the group and it confirms that you are unified with your other Troop members in the beliefs and goals of AHG. All official AHG uniforms can be purchased from the AHG website. We order them after August registration for the Troop. Ordering with the Troop will save the taxes and shipping costs will be shared. You will need to provide the polo and bottoms for the uniforms.
When do girls receive badges?
We have two official badge ceremonies each year - one in December and one in May.
What does Registration pay for?
All girl members and Adult Volunteers are required to be registered members of AHG. Currently the registration fee for members is $40. $105 Sister Cap fee for minimum of 3 or more girls in a family. This fee covers background checks for Adults Volunteer members, data processing and the administrative costs of membership and is renewed annually. As a registered Adult Volunteer of AHG, you will have access to AHG Leader resources, receive an electronic subscription to AHG's quarterly newsletter, Heritage Headlines, and are covered by AHG, Inc.’s group insurance.
